October 14-16, 2015, Beijing, P. R. China
Bionic engineering covers the study of function mechanism of living systems with the intention of applying their principles to the design of engineering systems, and it is an interdisciplinary research area which integrates biology, materials, mechanics, informatics, robotics, and other related subjects. In recent years, bionic engineering has been actively developed globally. Many bionic scientific research and products have been conducted, designed and developed.
The 2015 International Workshop on Bionic Engineering (IWBE 2015) will be held in Beijing, China, October 14-16, 2015. Conferences by the International Society of Bionic Engineering (ISBE) in the similar aims have successfully been held in recent years: Conference of Bionic Engineering in Changchun 2006, Changchun 2008, Zhuhai 2010, and Nanjing 2013. The workshop aims to provide a forum for researchers in bionic engineering from around the world to share their ideas and latest results. The 1st workshop was held in Zhangjiajie in Year 2012(IWBE 2012). The theme of IWBE 2015 is “The Progress and New Challenges of Bionic Functional Structures and Surfaces”. The host city Beijing, also known as Peking, is the capital of the People's Republic of China and the country’s cultural, political and educational center. The detailed tourism information can be found in the following link: http://english.visitbeijing.com.cn/.
